FS25 Animal Feeding Guide

Overview

Properly feeding your animals in Farming Simulator 25 is essential for maximizing their productivity (milk, wool, manure, slurry, reproduction). Different animals have different dietary needs. This guide covers the basics for common base-game animals.

Cow IconCows

Cows are valuable for milk, manure, slurry, and reproduction. Their highest productivity comes from Total Mixed Ration (TMR).

Total Mixed Ration (TMR)

TMR is a blend of ingredients typically mixed using a Mixer Wagon. While exact game values can sometimes vary slightly between versions or with mods, a standard base-game TMR mix often follows these ratios:

IngredientTypical Ratio RangeNotes
Silage40% - 50%Can be grass silage, corn silage, etc. Usually loaded from a bunker silo or bales.
Hay40% - 50%Dried grass, available loose or in bales.
Straw0% - 20%Primarily from Wheat, Barley, or Oats. Required component for TMR.
Mineral Feed(Often separate)Sometimes bought from the store and added directly to the trough or included in purchased TMR/Feed. Check specific needs.

Mixing Example (10,000 L): To make 10,000 liters of TMR (using a common ratio):

Always check the mixer wagon's display for the precise percentages as you load!

Pig IconPigs

Pigs produce manure, slurry, and reproduce quickly. They require a balanced diet covering several food categories for maximum productivity.

You need to provide food from *each* category (Base, Protein, Energy/Veg) to reach 100% productivity. You can mix these yourself or use store-bought Pig Food.

Sheep IconSheep

Sheep primarily produce Wool and reproduce. They are relatively low maintenance.

Chicken IconChickens

Chickens produce Eggs and reproduce.

Horse IconHorses

Horses increase in value when cared for properly (feeding, riding, cleaning). They can eventually be sold for profit.
